Chamser Kangri, rising to an elevation of 6,622 meters (21,725 feet), is a prominent peak located in the eastern part of Ladakh’s Changthang region. Situated near the Tibetan border, this peak is part of the Rupshu Valley and is renowned for its challenging, making it an ideal choice for seasoned trekkers seeking high-altitude expeditions.
What sets Chamser Kangri apart from many other 6,600-meter peaks across the Himalayas is its advantageous base altitude. The surrounding Changthang region averages around 4,500 meters, significantly reducing the vertical ascent required and aiding in acclimatization. Acclimatization
Small trek around Leh for acclimatization. Today we will do a short trek within the vicinity of Leh town covering Shantis Stupa and Namgyal tsemo monastery, Namgyal tsemo monastery was built in 15th century by a king called Tashi Namgyal as a symbol of his victory against the enemies and offers a perfect postcard view of the entire Leh town, from there you can also get a bird eye view of the( Zanskar range and mighty Stok-Kangri peak), After that, we will walk into the alleys of Leh town and head out to visit Shanti Stupa. Shanti Stupa is a white dome-shaped structure situated on a hilltop in Changspa, Leh. Built in 1999 as a symbol of peace and harmony, it offers a magnificent view of southern Leh, including Leh Palace, Namgyal Tsemo monastery and the southern ranges. After that we will head out to a local restaurant for lunch and then we will relax for the rest of the day. if you wish, you can visit the main market in the evening. Overnight at the hotel. |
Lower Leh to Upper Leh
Today we will have a short trek up to upper Leh ”Gangles” for acclimatization, which would be a trek of around 2 to 3 hours, for lunch we will go to a fine restaurant and if you wish you can visit Leh main market in the evening.
Leh to Kyagar via Chumathang ( 4580 M )
After having breakfast, we will head out to Kyagar via Chumathang, which might take around four to five hours. On our way to Kyagar, we will get to visit a hot water spring called Chumathang where we will have (pack-lunch), our lakeside camp in kyagar is a cold place lying at the height of 4700 mtrs resided by tibetan refugee tribes and ladakhi nomads in the summer, the camp lies in a hidden valley on vast flowered meadow with a open view and burbling stream traced from the mountains,

Kyagar to Nachalak ( 5500M)
Waking up in the mountains, facing the blue lake, we will serve you a hot steaming cup of coffee with a breakfast that suits your taste.
Post breakfast we will begin our trek as the rest of the team packs the camp and follows us.
We will continue the trek towards the east of the Kyagar Lake, where we will have to bypass a few barren hills until we finally reach the campsite at Nala Chalak. it will be a journey of over 5 hours until Nala Chalak, and after crossing the second pass, you will have a postcard-perfect view of the Tsomoriri Lake and the peaks nearby.

Nachalak to basecamp, (5800 M)
On this day, we will be hiking for around 4 to 5 hours until we reach the basecamp from Nalachalak. It will be a gradual hike until the base camp and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding peaks and the Tsomoriri Lake,
The basecamp lies at an altitude of 5600 m, so it is really important for us to avoid exerting too much energy and should drink a lot of water.

Basecamp Rest Day
We are keeping one day reserved just in case we won’t be able to summit according to the preplanned itinerary.
Base-camp to high camp.( 5900 M )
Since the summit is more than 1000 mtrs above the basecamp, we will put a high camp somewhere at the height of 5900 mtrs so that it will be easier for us to climb, and also the chances of summit will increase.
High Camp to Summit ( 6620 M)
Today we will have to get ready at 3 am in the morning and should gear-up with every hiking accessories like, headlamp, hot water, warm clothes, backpacks , dry fruits and chocolates, we will have a quick breakfast and after that we will head-out for the big day, the technicality and the timing of the trek depends highly upon the level of snow and it might take 10 to 11 hours to complete, of-course it would be freezing cold out there so we must take care of our clothings and googles, the view from the top is stunningly amazing and from there you will get a perfect post card view of almost all the peaks around the region, the hike would be strenuous and hard with steep routes but once you reach the top, it is all worth it, you will be rewarded with jaw dropping scenic views, photography mines and a odd satisfaction that mountaineers are familiar with, after that we will slowly climb down while keeping in mind the safety concerns,
As soon as we get back to the base camp, our staff will welcome us with tea, coffee, and snacks,
The night would be spent dreaming about mountains at the base camp.

Basecamp to Nachalak
Post breakfast, we will trek down towards our campsite at Nala Chalak where we will rest, recover and enjoy the luxury of leisure, journaling the experience or taking a good sleep.

Nachalak to Kyagar Tso
After having breakfast early in the morning, we will head out towards Kyagar Tso, which will take around three to four hours. The entire trail runs down the valley and finally ends at the banks of Kyagar Lake, where we would camp by the water spring.

Kyagar Tso to Leh
Our drive back to Leh would take around 4 to 5 hours, on the way we will take a lunch break at Kharu, where we will get some local food. After reaching Leh, you may either rest or you can also visit Leh main market to buy some souvenirs for your loved ones.

After having breakfast, we will see you off at the airport according to your flight’s timing.

Climbing Mt. Chamser Kangri requires a structured level of preparation. A good way to train for the climb is to start working on your basic cardiovascular fitness supplemented by a simple strength program. Going on regular hikes (6-7 hrs) on local trails about 1-2 times a month will be a great way to condition yourself for the climb.

Climbing Mt.Chamser Kangri requires all the gear required to climb a 6000m peak. Based on our experience, we have carefully selected the following list that is suitable for this climb. We just like to add one golden rule in the aspect of purchasing equipment/gear i.e., “Try before you buy.”
Travel Details
Climbers are suggested to arrive 1-2 days before the start date of the expedition. This allows ample time to recover from any jetlag and settle in the local city. The return ticket may be an ‘open ticket’ or 1-2 days after the last day of the expedition.
Insurance
It is mandatory for every climber to have an insurance that covers medical emergency & evacuation during the full duration of the expedition. Along with that, we also highly recommend a ‘trip cancellation’ insurance for any eventuality. Having such an insurance will ensure that you as a climber are covered from all aspects.

We provide full support in the form of supporting documentation and all the necessary communication required for the processing of your visa.
Booking Policy
A booking fee of ₹50,000 will be required to confirm your trip for an upcoming season. This fee is non-refundable but transferable. Please refer our detailed booking policy sent to you on request.
Payment Policy
Convenient part payment options are available for this trip. However, the complete payment has to be made on or before 10 days before the start of the itinerary.
Transfer Policy
Incase for any reason your trip has to be transferred to the next season, the same can be done within the ‘Transfer period’ for each trip.
Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policies are customer-friendly and can be easily availed within the ‘cancellation period’ of each trip. Please note that the cancellation will be subject to prevalent conditions.
